El Palace Barcelona opened its doors in 1919 as the Hotel Ritz of Barcelona, the only one that César Ritz designed that was not located in a capital city. Not only have the most illustrious members of Catalan high society passed through its halls and rooms, but also figures from the worlds of monarchy, aristocracy, art, and national and international culture such as Salvador Dalí, Ronnie Wood, Josephine Baker, and Joan Miró (who currently has his own dedicated Art Suite).
The present-day El Palace Barcelona is a hotel located just a few meters from the biggest tourist attractions in the city: Plaza Catalunya, the shops and the iconic modernist buildings on the Paseo de Gracia, and the bustling Ramblas.
120 carefully decorated rooms, 7 event rooms, an emblematic hall, the Bluesman Cocktail Bar, with its live music and renowned cocktail bar, the roof garden on the seventh floor and a carefully selected gastronomic offering, together with its membership to the prestigious association of independent luxury hotels, The Leading Hotels of the World, position El Palace at the top of the luxury hotel industry in Barcelona.
The new El Palace has also shown, for a while now, a new spirit that is more youthful and more daring, with renewed and surprising proposals to attract not only the guests staying at the hotel but Barcelonans as well.
